Since the beginning of 2018, Lân Fan Taal has been a free state that welcomes all languages. We celebrate language with – mostly freely accessible – festivals, projections, exhibitions and activities. Lân Fan Taal is also part of the Re-Opening of LF2018, and has organised a great programme for November.
Well-known children’s bookmaker Charlotte Dematons drew the vocabulary development illustration ‘Zinspinsels’ for the Frisian libraries and Lân fan taal. Within Lân fan taal is of course a place for ‘mienskip’ (means community) projects! Below are the projects that are supported by the special LFT subsidy scheme and are related to ‘education’. They are all public-oriented cultural activities with special attention to multilingualism.
In addition to a free Language Kit, there are more events and programmes suitable for both primary and secondary education.
Why does language exist? What can you do with it? The Lân fan taal educational programme is based around the necessity of language. And, not to forget: the love of language! Primary school pupils can discover what the body says, use the amazing “talkboard” by illustrator Charlotte Dematons, and take part in a multilingual musical!
After the storytelling festival in May, the events programmed by Expedition Ameland will continue. In the summer of 2018, you can come and listen to multilingual stories in the museums of Ameland every Wednesday afternoon.
