Premiere Projection #2 & Language Garden Festival.

The second, multilingual video projection on the Oldehove will premiere on Friday 13 April at 22.00 hours: ‘Weagen / Waves / Wellen’, in which work by poet Tsjêbbe Hettinga is combined with old film images. Created by producer / musician René Duursma, writer / poet Rodaan al Galidi and animator Antonia Rehnen.

The premiere is the perfect occasion for a weekend long “Talentuinfestival” (language garden festival), starting on Friday afternoon. With, among other things, the Relaxerette, a fantastic device with hammocks in which you can just float away. The young scribes of “Meeuw Jonge Schrijvers” ‘fight’ each other and surprise you with brand new texts. There will also be a lively language programme in MeM, we will have a party in Obe and films will be played on a ship. Free entrance!

More information about the complete programme you’ll find here.
Check in to the Facebook Event for updates.

A first selection from the program:

Relaxerette (6+)
The “Relaxerette” is a moving installation that provides you a different perspective. Take a seat in a hammock, put the headphones on and close your eyes. Listen to stories and sounds that stop your thoughts for a moment. Choose the swirling vocabulary of Marc van der Holst, the melancholy of Marieke Lucas Rijneveld or one of the other stories, written by Jamila Faber, Heksenhamer and Pieter van der Sman. Jolle Roelofs made a soundscape especially for the Relaxerette that lets you escape for a while. The Relaxerette is presented by Arjan Kruidhof, Lân fan taal and Explore the North.

Meeuw Jonge Schrijvers
The writers of “Meeuw Jonge Schrijvers” surprise you with brand new texts. On Friday, the poets will duel together during the Poetry Slam, under the guidance of NK poetry slam champion Daniël Vis. On Saturday they show their theater writing skills with three overwhelming short plays. The pieces are played and directed by professional theater makers. In addition, we are discussing the creative process with the young writers. What inspires them and how does a good monologue or dialogue arise?
