Since the beginning of 2018, Lân Fan Taal has been a free state that welcomes all languages. We celebrate language with – mostly freely accessible – festivals, projections, exhibitions and activities. Lân Fan Taal is also part of the Re-Opening of LF2018, and has organised a great programme for November.

Jan Minno Rozendal selected for Other Words-residency in Macedonia

Historian and publicist Jan Minno Rozendal was chosen by the jury of Other Words Fryslân for a residence in Macedonia. sOf the two submitted plans, the jury found that Rozendal’s was the strongest. Next week, he will travel to the Macedonian city of Bitola for an eight week residence.

Premiere 3rd projection on Oldehove with Nynke Laverman

Premiere Projection #2 & Language Garden Festival

The second, multilingual video projection on the Oldehove will premiere on Friday 13 April at 22.00 hours: ‘Weagen / Waves / Wellen’, in which work by poet Tsjêbbe Hettinga is combined with old film images. Created by producer / musician René Duursma, writer / poet Rodaan al Galidi and animator Antonia Rehnen.

Opening Language Garden & Pavilions

During an international conference this week in Soraga (Italy), Lân fan taal was presented as an exemplary project of LF2018. The Network to Promote Linguistic Diversity (NPLD) organized the conference.

Multilingual announcement birth OBE

OBE is the final name for the new building on the Oldehoofsterkerkhof in Leeuwarden. Bouwbedrijf Lont is responsible for the construction of the language experience center. Deputy Sietske Poepjes announced this today at the Oldehove, during a multilingual kickoff of Lân fan taal.
